LATEST PENNANT NEWS - 2012

2012 PENNANT FINALS - LATEST INFORMATION

All 2012 PDGA Pennant Finals will be played on Sunday 27th May 2012 at St Andrews Beach - Gunnamatta Course. Course address: 209 Sandy Rd, St Andrews Beach, Victoria.

The finals will be played in the following order:

FINAL No.1 - DIVISION THREE - Mornington vs Berwick/Montuna @ 10.00 am
FINAL No.2 - DIVISION TWO - Moonah Links vs Flinders @ 10.45 am
FINAL No.3 - DIVISION ONE - Cardinia-Beaconhills vs Devilbend @ 11.30 am

Tees: All contests will be played from the back tees.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

1. There are no practice range facilities at the St Andrews Beach Course. If you are requiring practice facilities the nearest ranges are at Moonah Links, Trumans Rd Golf Range and The Dunes Golf Links.
2. St Andrews will provide only one golf cart per team for Team Advisor/Manager.
3. Practice rounds will have to be paid for by each player or the players club. St Andrews Beach contact no. is: 03 5988 6000 or 03 5988 5366
4. The PDGA will be providing a meal after each divison final for the 7 players plus advisor from each team.
SPECIAL NOTE: Any caddies meals will need to be paid for by their own clubs and must be ordered by Tuesday 22nd May. To order extra meals please contact PDGA President Ron Craven - his contact numbers are: Home - 5989 0876 and Mobile 0408 989 484.
The cost of the extra caddy meals are $12 each.

A Presentation will be made to the winning teams after each final.

2011 PDGA DIVISION ONE GRAND FINAL
Congratulation go to ROSEBUD COUNTRY CLUB for taking out the 2011 Pennant at Sorrento winning 4.5 games to 2.5 games.
Both teams gave their all in what turned out to be a tough struggle throughout the day. Standout rounds from Rosebuds Aaron Balloch (7/6 win) and Marino Colombo (4/3 win) certainly helped the teams efforts overall.

Results of the DIVISION ONE SEMI-FINALS were:

Semi Final One: Cardinia-Beaconhills (1st North) lost to Rosebud (2nd South) played at Flinders Golf Club - 1/6

Semi-Final Two: Devilbend (1st South) defeated Berwick/Montuna (2nd North) played at Portsea Golf Club - 6/1

The 2011 PDGA finals commenced on Sunday 15th May with the Grand Final of DIVISION TWO and the Semi-Finals of DIVISION ONE.

2011 DIVISION TWO GRAND-FINAL

The Division Two grand final was won by Devilbend over Cardinia-Beaconhills - 4 games to 3 games. The match was played at the RACV Cape Schanck Resort in rather wet, cold and windy conditions.

Congratulations to the following players for their excellent results this pennant season:

Unbeaten Players: Ryan Fuller (Cardinia-Beaconhills), Ed Nicolette (Berwick/Montuna) and Marino Colombo (Rosebud).

Players who won either 4 games plus a half match were: Peter Walsh (The Dunes), Troy Smith (Devilbend), Paul West (Carrington Park)

4 matches without loss were: John Ackaoui (Cardinia-Beaconhills), David French (Cardinia-Beaconhills), Matt Ball (Warburton), Aaron Balloch (Rosebud), Quentin Gray (Mornington) and Jon Cowling (Devilbend).
