---2012 - JUNIOR PENNANT RULES
|
- Teams shall consist of five (5) players plus optional emergency in all sections.
- A player shall be a bona fide member of the club he/she is representing.
- A player shall have an Australian handicap. Male players maximum and 27 Female players maximum 36.
- All players must be Under 18 on the scheduled first day of pennant.
- The competition will be played as per the draw scheduled by the PDGA.
- Matches in all sections will be handicap matchplay, played in handicap order (1-5) (not necessarily the emergency player) these matches will be played in pairs hitting off on reverse order emerg & 5 – 4 & 3 – 2 & 1.
- Male/Male matches, strokes will be given against the matchplay index. Male/Female matches, strokes will be given against the lower handicapper’s matchplay index.
- All matches shall commence from the 1st tee, off the markers determined by the host club. Female players shall play from the ladies markers of the day.
- Hit off times shall be determined between visiting and host clubs, each club should establish the hitoff times in the week prior to the match being played.
- Course closures prior to any play shall result in a halved match 21/2 – 21/2 Course closure due to weather after play has commenced, matches that are completed shall stand, incomplete matches shall be deemed to be halved. A postponement in play due to bad weather is permitted thus allowing the completion of unfinished matches to attain an overall result.
- Teams shall be named on the result sheet (host club) prior to hitoff times and exchanged between team managers.
- Matches will only be over 18 holes – should a match be tied at the completion of 18 holes then it is deemed to be halved.
- Results are 1 point per winning matches ½ point per halved matches no points for emergency matches.
- The pennant ladder shall be arranged according to the number of team matches won in descending order, if in a case of a tie then the number of individual matches won by each shall determine the result.
- All result sheets need to be signed by a team captain and faxed by the host club ASAP Sunday to (03) 5979 2851. NOTE: Failure to do so may result in a 5 nil loss to the host club.
- Disputes that may arise should be handled on the day between the team managers, if a result can not be obtained between parties, contact can be made with the PDGA Junior Co-Ordinator - 0419 367 153 or details by BOTH parties can be faxed to (03) 5979 2851 within 48 hours to assertain a result. The PDGA has the FINAL decision.
- Caddies are permitted. They cannot enter onto the green. Should any person get over zealous towards any player, own child included, they may be asked to leave the course. Host managers to oversee any situations that may arise.
- Dress codes apply to all clubs. Please respect these codes at other clubs that you may visit. Footwear appropriate to each club should be adhered to both on the course and inside the clubhouse.
- Rules of Golf apply to all matches and all matches should be played in the correct spirit of the game. Respect your opponent and yourself.
- Heat policy is to be determined between the two team managers at the course on the day. Conditions may vary location to location. If a decision cannot be attained between parties then contact the PDGA Junior Co-Ordinator - 0419 367 153 immediately. Matches not played due to extreme conditions shall be deemed to be halved and points shared 21/2 – 21/2.
