UPDATE
The PDGA Squad finished in third spot after 3 day of hectic golf at Kooringal, Latrobe and Kew Golf Clubs. We did not accomplish all our goals this year but we have something to aim for in 2011.
As usual this is a team effort but I would like to thank the following people who made my job a lot easier:
Ray Ousley for his complete dedication to the team and also the excellent range of player statistics that certainly assisted the selectors in choosing the final players. Ray also assisted with the pin sheets each day which certainly helped our boys around the course and also his caddying.
Bob Bright for his valuable input as a past Country Week manager and selector.
I would also like to thank the following PDGA Executive members for their assistance to the team:
John Bright for looking after the uniform issues that arose and buying the food for the event and caddying for Ryan Fuller.
Mike Dobson for his valuable assistance with finance issues and booking venues.
Tyrrell McGeever for his assistance with uniform ordering and collection and assisting with keeping the boys fed during the games.
To all the caddies Ashley O'Dwyer, Phil Walton, Andrew Schonewille, Chris Hurwood, Ray Ousley, Bob Bright, John Bright, Ron Craven, Peter Molloy, Nigel Harris, Dave Heffernan - I thank you for putting in valuable time with the team. (I apologise if I missed anyone who caddied this year).
To the support staff I thank you for your valued input into our campaign this year.

GETTING READY FOR COUNTRY WEEK
Ray Ousley, Chris Hurwood (ex Kooringal member) and I went over to Kooringal Golf Club in Altona to view the course and to get some GPS/Laser listings of the holes (our Course Booklet is now complete and printed). For all the rain that we have had the course was in really good shape. The fairways had plenty of grass and the greens were running true with good speed.
UPDATE:
Ray and I went to Latrobe Golf Club at Alphington on Tuesday this week to take GPS/Laser readings and were pleasantly surprised how good the course was looking. The fairways were dry and had a good grass cover and the greens were firm. An interesting layout with tight fairways especially hitting from the tee. The Course Booklet for Latrobe is complete and already printed.
We went to Kew Golf Club this next week and have finalised the data for the course. Kew was in very good order and should be ready for the final matches on Friday 1st October.
